Import Tax and Customs Duty
Please note: International orders may be subject to local customs charges and import taxes. We will use our experience to assist where possible, but it is the responsibility of the buyer to obtain information regarding, and be aware of, their country’s import rules and regulations.
USA orders: In August 2025, the United States government removed the de minimis rule which previously allowed items up to $800 to enter the United States without duties, tax or customs checks. All orders entering the US are now subject to customs duty/import tax and customs checks. A customs company (e.g. Mark 3 International or similar) will contact you requiring the correct tax to be paid before the parcel is released to the US. In the event that a parcel is returned to us tax unpaid, we can either refund the cost of purchase minus the postage cost, or resend the parcel if the postage cost is paid by the buyer.
EU orders: From 1st July 2026, a flat customs duty of €3 will apply to Business to Consumer (B2C) parcels under €150 entering the EU. The EU describes the measure as temporary, ahead of broader EU customs reform. According to the Council’s of the European Union’s release, the €3 duty will apply to all B2C goods under €150, including those sold by non-EU sellers registered under the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) for VAT purposes. As far as we are aware, the customs duty will apply per tariff line rather than per item – as we exclusively sell sewing machine parts, all our parcels are exported under one tariff code and the maximum customs duty fee for receiving any of our parcels should be €3.

Where possible we will assist and provide postage and tracking information, however, issues arising from third party delivery must be raised with the chosen courier.
